Knol is getting 5.6 million unique visitors a month on basis of estimates and this make it eligible for Top 1000 website when ranked on unique visitors. Knol Author Foundation gave a press release on the occasion.
The progress of Knol may accelerate further on this event and Knol's rank may go easily up to 300.

Vic Gundotra, Senior Vice President, Engineering announced the Google+ project. Google users can now share many of their online items, like mails, articles, blogs, photos, and the search links they linked to their selected groups of contacts whenever they wish.
There is no fixed group all the time. Which is definitely more real life situation. The project will evolve over a period of time.
